The Blair Witch Cult

The Blair Witch Cult, is a book with a mysterious history. It's origins are mostly unknown, and is considered to have been anonymously written. The year of its publication is up for debate, according to information given when the book was on display from the Maryland Historical Society (Right), it was written in 1785. Other information suggests the book was published January of 1809, could it be possible both are right? Did twenty-four years pass from the time the book was completed, and when it was first published? Who wrote the book? Where was it stored away during that time? The only known copy of the book is missing, where is it now?
